One lazy day in 2009, I decided to embark on a photo-a-day-for-a-year challenge. I set myself a goal to upload a different photo every day - some are of my gorgeous clients, some are of my ever obliging family and friends.
Well, I reached the end of the challenge year, and while I didn't quite succeed at a photo-a-day, this blog became part of my weekly routine.
I love the way this little one didn't drop the leaf, even when she was toppling over. It just tasted too good. See mum's hand coming to the rescue... whilst in fits of laughter!
A rare moment - Isobel posing for me ... but I had to be quick! She likes this photo because I got rid of her freckles (but she doesn't know about the second pic... I love freckles!)
I'm sitting at my desk working with the rain coming down outside dreaming of Byron Bay sunsets and smiling drummers. Although this was where I was just a few weeks ago, its seems soooo much longer... sigh!
I love to see my bubs get their toes wet but sometimes, that's not ALL that gets wet... which was the case with this speedy babe. But she stripped-off in style!
What a great idea for covering up boring old nappies. I'll be encouraging all my toddlers to go shopping at www.5littlemonkeys.com.au for these stylish Ouch britches.
I always think parents have the biggest job at my photo-shoots... I can stand back and let it happen but the parents are kept on their toes! This little cutie was quick on her feet.
These photos make me laugh. My daughter very rarely lets me anywhere near her with the camera. You could say "she's over it!" Camera fatigue! But, its a different story when her Uncle Ben is in town. She is more than happy to perform for him.
Yesterday, my brother accompanied me to Denmark to shoot a best-seller author for Scoop Magazine. It was one of those incredible still evenings that we get down here in Autumn. Here's a shot of Ben while we were waiting for our subject to arrive.
I am Albany's wedding and lifestyle photographer. I have with a passion for creating beautiful portraits - photos that make people stop in the midst of the chaos of their lives and stare for a moment.
I strive to capture non-cheesy images that are upbeat, energetic, optimistic and full of joy. I prefer natural light (as opposed to studio lighting) and I love the dreamy, airy feel.
I love to capture... life, actually!

I'm based in Albany Western Australia, where we are spoilt for choice for photo-shoot locations!
For as long as I can remember, I've been taking photos. I got my first camera - an instamatic - as a kid and was mesmerised by my first prints (of my pony, Prince). Back then, we'd drop the film off at the chemist in the neighbouring town 50 kms away in the south of Western Australia. My parents would take me to pick it up a week later. Oh, the anticipation!
Later at boarding school, I cut my teeth on an SLR and I spent time in the darkroom with the school photography club and collecting photos for the school magazine.
In my teens, I fell into an unofficial role of "documentary photographer" recording lifes of friends at uni and later, throughout our twenties. But while I continued to take pleasure in photography at social events and as I travelled the world, I'd never considered it as a career.
With the birth of our first child, I realised there's rarely a moment not worth photographing. I've been a "mumma-ratzi" prowling on my gorgeous kids & their friends for those magic moments all of their little lives. (You'll get to know some of them through this blog.).
Getting my first digital SLR camera was the catalyst to really letting my hair down. And the decision to follow a career path in this field, after 20 years in marketing, was a natural progression.
I passionately believe this is what I am meant to do.
