About this blog...

***** THIS BLOG HAS BEEN REPLACED IN 2012 ***** If you've come aross this blog site by accident, pop over to www.krystaguille.com for my current one *****

One lazy day in 2009, I decided to embark on a photo-a-day-for-a-year challenge. I set myself a goal to upload a different photo every day - some are of my gorgeous clients, some are of my ever obliging family and friends.

Well, I reached the end of the challenge year, and while I didn't quite succeed at a photo-a-day, this blog became part of my weekly routine.

And so I continue...at a new location.

Gull Rock

We had magic weather for a shoot last night out at Gull Rock.  I can't show you the photos yet but here's some snaps I took just before "my family" arrived....

Coffee-table books...

Just putting together a coffee-table book for this family and thought I'd share these few.  I love it when my clients choose to have a photo-book because it gives me the chance to build little stories from the photos.

Leaves...

The wild weather on the weekend brought down all the leaves from our beautiful tree, and for a minute I was impressed to see the kids raking them up into a pile after school yesterday... until I realised they had a plan!  Thank you, neighbours, for not calling the police to complain about the noise!

Two plus four...

I've always admired the dynamics of larger families... there is such a warm buzz & welcoming chaos.  This family has all that but i was also blown away by how polite & gentle the kids all are. Thank you for making this shoot so much fun!

Ben Reynolds...

This is my brother Ben who is also nutty about photography.  He &I have very different styles  - I'm all about people (& dogs) while Ben is more experimental with landscapes & street photography.  This combination makes for a great range of photos for our clients when we work together.  If you'd like to see some of Ben's amazing work visit his Red Bubble portfolio.  I think you'll be impressed!

The week begins...

This morning, in amongst the general Monday morning madness in our house getting everyone to school & work on time, I snuck out onto the deck to get a few snaps of the sunrise.  It was irresistible!

Real food...

Tomorrow morning, and every Saturday morning, Ian will ring the bell that announces that the Albany Farmers Market is open for business.   We Albanians are fiercely proud of the incredible fresh produce that comes from our surrounding region.   We are, in fact so very spoilt with two markets every week - the other is the Albany Boatshed Markets held on Sundays.  Real food ... yum!

Amazing Albany sneak peek...

This is a sneaky glimpse of a photo from one of the five shoots for the 2010 Albany Traveller magazine which will be hitting the news stands inside The West on 12 June.  I was really pretty stoked to  be commissioned for this job as I consider the Albany Traveller magazine to be my "baby."  It was one of the major marketing projects I implemented during my time with the City of Albany.
In fact, it was partly responsible for me getting the idea of "becoming" a photographer after working with Lisa Thompson Photography on the photos for the first magazine about four years ago.   Thank you Lisa - I hope I do you justice!

This photo was taken at Cape Howe Cottages on Saturday with gorgeous models Holly & Chris.

A moment to herself...

We are so spoilt for amazing locations for shoots here in Albany.
