About this blog...

***** THIS BLOG HAS BEEN REPLACED IN 2012 ***** If you've come aross this blog site by accident, pop over to www.krystaguille.com for my current one *****

One lazy day in 2009, I decided to embark on a photo-a-day-for-a-year challenge. I set myself a goal to upload a different photo every day - some are of my gorgeous clients, some are of my ever obliging family and friends.

Well, I reached the end of the challenge year, and while I didn't quite succeed at a photo-a-day, this blog became part of my weekly routine.

And so I continue...at a new location.

Morgan Annie Make-Up... {wedding}

Albany is very lucky to call the founder of "Morgan Annie All Natural Beauty" one of our own!

You may have read my previous blog post about Kylie (here) or even seen the range featured on Today Tonight.  Here's Morgan Annie "in-action" just Jayne put on her wedding dress last weekend.  Simply stunning Jayne - you made a gorgeous gorgeous bride!

Sneak peek; Spring garden wedding... {wedding}

I was just dying to share one from yesterday's gorgeous wedding set in the bride's family garden. It was stunning - the result of months of toil by the bride's parents (reminding me of my own garden wedding).

Bron + Matthew, 2nd October 2011 {wedding}

As I drove home from Bron+ Matt's wedding day after a wet & wild day day in Denmark, I was on such a feel-good-high.   Yes, it had rained almost ALL day, but not once did Bron + Matt see those dark clouds!  It was all sunshine & roses for them!  What a beautiful outlook they have for their lives together - they are truly a very special couple & feel very lucky to have met them.

Bron + Matt were married at St Leonard's Church in Denmark - a quaint little purple building with tonnes of character in the centre of town.   No sooner had Mr + Mrs Palm stepped outside of the church as a newly-wed couple, when those rain clouds rolled in.

So, we quickly changed all our plans for our location photos & took up a  kind offer from the generous hospitality of Russell and Linda at Rickety Gate Winery, Denmark.

Thanks to Ben Reynolds for assisting with the wedding.  The slideshow is also attached.

Oh sooo loved... {family portrait}

I always ask "my families" what message they hope to convey through the images I take of them during the family portrait session.  I was very touched by Erica's answer; "That we loved him so much from the very beginning".  I think that is about as good a reason as I'll ever get.  And Liam IS adored by his parents.

Can you feel the love?

Striking Jade... {portrait}

I was lucky enough to spend a week in Perth, recently, with Jerry Ghionis who is widely regarded as one of the top five wedding photographers in the world.

Jerry's style is very much about glamour, fashion & drama - and he just oozes "cool" vibes!  These are descriptions that are VERY far removed from my style  - but I soaked up all those vibes & really enjoyed the fact that I was really stretched right out of my comfort-zone during that week.

I learnt sooooo much, especially about posing and finding the light that will make my clients look their absolute best.  I also had a blast with my new "photog" friends.

Jerry's voice was in my head this week when I photographed the very beautiful Jade.

Thanks Jerry!

You rock!

Family moments... {wedding}

These are the moments that remind me how privileged I am to have this job.

A very intimate mother-daughter moment just before we left for the church...

And one with Dad too...

Sneak peek; Rickety Gate, Denmark ... {wedding}

Sooo very very grateful for the generous hospitality of the folks at Rickety Gate Wines, Denmark. Lots and lots of rain changed all our plans for our location photos today, but Rickety Gate provided a fabulous alternative for Matt + Bron's wedding photos. Thank you Russell and Linda!
